Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating that can affect the axillary, palmar or plantar areas. It is a common symptom that causes a lot of discomfort to the patient. The condition can begin in childhood or adolescence (the axillary one appears later, while the palmo-plantar one appears around the age of 14-15 years) and can affect any region of the body.

Hyperhidrosis can be idiopathic or secondary to various metabolic, nervous, febrile conditions, or it can occur as an adverse reaction to various medications.

Severe sweating can affect the patient's life and comfort, making it difficult for him to social and professional contacts, sometimes even in the presence of rigorous hygiene.

Hyperhidrosis affects both gender equally and can occur at any age.

When classic treatments such as antiperspirants based on aluminum chloride, anticholinergic drugs, iontophoresis do not provide a good result, botulinum toxin can be used with confidence.

Botulinum toxin treatment removes the unpleasant effects of excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) over a period of 1 to 3 years.
